The Hachette Carrier app is for Hachette Stores.
It provides an easy way to plugin your own custom carrier provider into your store via a PHP class file. The PHP can be as simple as adding a cost based on the number of items to calling a 3rd party API to get a rate.
A Provider class is uploaded via the app and then enabled. When a provider is enabled, the app will deal with registering the webhook and responding to the shipping request from shopify when a user is completing an order.
